The model B201.4 Step Back is the 303 stainless steel version of the initial production run of the B model head.
The B201.4 is cut from a single block of soft 303 stainless steel. The color is a bit more silver than the satin nickel finish of the carbon steel putter heads, but just as soft.
The style, symmetry and balance all precisely controlled using the most modern technology in Computer Aided Design and machining. Every line, curve and edge painstakingly crafted over many months to produce the final work of art.
The overall design a beautiful double step heel toe weighted blade, influenced in set up and offset by some of the most popular putter styles of all time. This style is similar to the A model in most respects with the double step back being the difference. Improvements in feel, materials and alignment incorporated into this putter make holing putts a special experience.
As with all the Personal Edition models, edges in the cavity are machined parallel, unlike cast putters that must incorporate small draft angles, and provide more accurate alignment. The delicate hand finishing process maintains every nuance of the design intent down to the last fine detail.
The patented Long Barrel Straight Slant Neck provides improved feel by making a better connection between shaft and head, while giving a clean look at address. The extended socket provides a deeper shaft insertion, less vibration at impact, and super solid feel.
The patented sighting system incorporates a positive raised center line, with recessed dual outside lines for sure alignment under any lighting conditions. No matter the position of the sun, the raised center line casts a small helpful shadow for alignment aid.
Although not containing an actual face insert, the engraved insert outline and cross milled interior provide confidence building visual reference to frame the ball at address.
Offset is full shaft and the neck is positioned more into the heel of this model giving it a hanging angle of 36 degrees. Loft is set at 4 degrees.
