These special satin finished carbon steel E203.11 putters were designed for Jack Nicklaus' personal use. Built around the E203.11 Slant Top head, these putters were made in a range of weights from 325 to 340 grams for Jack's personal experimentation. This particular model exhibits Jack's double sight lines on the putter top line.
Serving as Jack's club designer, I always make a small number of each of my new putter designs to his specs, for his personal inspection and use. The remainder of each group, not in his possession, are what you see here.
Together with the Special Edition head cover these rare putters make a limited edition's, limited edition. A very small number of putters made for the greatest player of all time.
Model B205.5 is classic heel-toe weighted blade style head. The toe and heel masses are designed in a double step pattern with each step approximately one third of the putter's width. The steps are cut parallel to the face and provide perfect visual symmetry and aesthetically pleasing edges to aid alignment. The heel and toe masses are positioned using computer aided design techniques for perfect balance. As with all the models, edges and cavities are machined perfectly parallel unlike cast putters that must incorporate small draft angles. These perfect angles help align the putter head.
Each putter is machined from a single solid block of carbon steel which starts with a weight of approximately 11 pounds. This technique ensures continuous metallurgical grain flow throughout the head and neck and consistent harmonics from putter to putter
The patented Long Barrel Straight Slant Neck provides improved feel by making a better connection between shaft and head, while giving a clean look at address. The extended socket provides a deeper shaft insertion, less vibration at impact, and super solid feel.
The patented sighting system incorporates a positive raised center line, with recessed dual outside lines for sure alignment under any lighting conditions. No matter the position of the sun, the raised center line casts a small helpful shadow for alignment aid.
Although not containing an actual face insert, the engraved insert outline and cross milled interior provide confidence building visual reference to frame the ball at address.
Offset is full shaft and the neck is positioned more into the heel of this model giving it a hanging angle of 36 degrees. Loft is set at 4 degrees. Models are machined from a single piece of soft carbon steel and satin nickel plated with a glare and corrosion resistant finish.
